Downtown

This lovely little garden with a fountain that always seems to be running is so charming.

The garden belogns to one of the many mosques downtown. It's funny how many mosques and churches there are. Sure, they're outnumbered by the restaurants and shops, but not by much.

  1. How refreshing! You know, over and over again, I love the soft color of Beirut that you capture.

  2. I'm glad to hear that.

The falling water must give a good feeling on these hot hot days we have been having.

  3. This looks so clean and neat in comparison to the older but beautiful buildings your show.

  4. Looks like a lovely place to soak one's feet for a while on a hot day... probably not allowed to do that though I guess ?

  5. I'm finally catching up on comments--I've been distracted for a while.

Yes, Joan Elizabeth, this is a very neat and clean part of town. The buildings are just as old (at least I think they are) though these have been restored and repaired recently--makes a big difference!

The landscaping at this mosque is particularly inviting. Owen, I don't think they'd let you, and anyway, there's that fence blocking the water. Oh well!
